Fire inspections

When starting a new business, you are required to have a New Business Inspection completed prior to receiving your Business Tax Receipt. The business should be completely set up as if it is opening day. Please refer to the document below for additional information about the inspection. 

If your business is located west of Vermont Ave./ Canoe Creek Rd., you will need to contact Fire Inspector O’Rourke at (689) 333-1380 to schedule your New Business Inspection. If your business is located east of Vermont Ave./ Canoe Creek Rd., you will need to contact Fire Inspector Khan at (407) 279-6225 to schedule your New Business Inspection.

According to Florida Fire Prevention Code 7th Edition, NFPA 1:

10.10.6.1 For other than one- and two- family dwellings, no hibachi, grill, or other similar devices used for cooking, heating, or any other purpose shall be used or kindled on any balcony, under any overhanging portion, or within 10 ft. (3 m) of any structure.

10.10.6.2 For other than one- and two-family dwellings, no hibachi, grill, or other similar devices used for cooking shall be stored on a balcony.
